Joel W. Hiser has over 35 years of hands on commercial real estate related work experience. During his career he has owned, developed, financed, constructed, operated and sold full and limited service hotels, resorts and condominium hotels throughout the United States. He also has in-depth commercial property leasing and management experience, hotel acquisition and franchise negotiation skills as well as joint venture structuring expertise. In addition to direct property management, he has been responsible in an asset management capacity for overseeing two hotel real estate portfolios valued in excess of one billion dollars each.
Prior to joining HTL Management, Joel was a Partner with Pannell Kerr Forster International, an international CPA firm as well as its affiliate PKF Consulting. He was also a principal and executive committee member of Horwath HTL, the world’s largest hospitality consulting company. He has also served in senior management and executive committee roles with Outrigger Enterprises - Hawaii and Regal Hotel International/Richfield Hospitality Services where he managed all real estate business activities including overseeing the management of numerous apartment buildings as well as leasing and managing several hundred thousand square feet of office space, 300 plus retail shops and several parking garages.
Joel is a Certified Public Accountant (Inactive), frequent guest speaker at industry conferences and leadership panels and is an active member of the Michigan State University School of Hospitality Business Alumni Association.
